The third period (beginning in September) includes :

  • Common courses: molecular modeling, introduction to rheology, characterization of porous networks, numerial and programming tool part 2
  • Soft skills 
  • IMACS specific course units: industrial clays and geomaterials, clays in cultural heritage, functionalized layered materials/minerals and bio-interfaces, environmental civil engineering (geotechnical hazards and sustainable applications of clay geomaterials), molecular modeling applied to clay minerals
  • Graduate shool practicum: Group project in which 3 students enrolled in 3 different master courses must carry out a joint project under the supervision of a The project must be presented in the form of a video.

The fourth period corresponds to the master thesis

Internship of at least 5 months (up to 6 months) in university or industrial laboratories. This internship is a key element of the training because it allows a complete immersion in a professional environment (academic laboratory and/or company). The student will have to apply all the knowledge/skills acquired during the first 3 semesters to address  a real scientific or technical problem.The program ends by the defense of the Master Thesis in the host institution.
